About Jeff Arlen, and The Law Office of Jeff Arlen
Jeff Arlen started tearing off roofs in 1978 in Northern California, and fourteen (14) years later in 1992 he took and passed the California State Bar exam on his first attempt. Jeff roofed his way through undergraduate and law school, and he knows the value of his clients’ hard work, and the value of their money.
Since 1992 Jeff Arlen has provided aggressive and successful representation in a variety of areas to clients throughout California. Jeff spent many of his years working for large law firms specializing in Real Estate and Construction Litigation.
He values honesty, integrity, and he especially respects the hard work of his clients.
Jeff began roofing in 1978 in Napa, and obtained his first California Roofer’s contractor license (C-39 Roofing Specialty) in 1981. Later he added a General Contractors’ License (B1) to it. While these licenses are currently and voluntarily inactive; Jeff has operated his own construction company, at various periods since 1981, performing residential, commercial and industrial construction.
In 1985 he graduated from California State University, Sacramento with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, and dual minors in Computer Science and Russian Language. Although the costs of school required a couple of breaks for work through school, Jeff was able to complete law school in December of 1991 in San Diego, then passed the February 1992 bar exam on his first attempt.
Jeff’s first six (6) years of practicing law were as In-House Counsel for American States Insurance, at that time owned by Lincoln National, the third largest insurance company in the country. He was a Real Estate and Construction Specialist in the In-House Law Office, so he has very strong experience and knowledge of all types of litigation, and very specifically Real Estate and Construction focused since 1992.
Jeff also worked for larger firms, with over ninety (90) attorneys, where he represented some of the largest residential developers in the United States, and all business types and sizes of subcontractors. Jeff has represented almost every trade of subcontractor, and many of the southern California contractors.
He has also been retained as a construction forensic witness over the years, on multiple construction litigation matters.
